Sandfill Operator – Dredging & Marine Projects

About the role

The Sandfill Operator supports dredging, reclamation and civil marine projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on time and within budget. You will work closely with the Sandfill Master/Supervisor to execute tasks on‑site while maintaining high quality, safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in placing shore anchors from dredger to shore and manage sandfill pumping operations.
• Perform daily equipment inspections, basic maintenance (lights, brakes, gas, oil, water) and pre‑/post‑trip checks.
• Coordinate with supervisors to follow work‑area directions and adhere to local environmental regulations.
• Maintain site cleanliness, enforce health‑safety rules and report accidents or hazards promptly.
• Implement safety policies, ensure protective devices are used, and support the overall safety program.
• Execute tasks in compliance with HSE regulations and company standards.

Required profile

• Secondary School Certificate with a technical qualification or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in dredging, marine or related industry.
• Personal Survival, Fire‑Fighting and First‑Aid qualification (Basic Safety Training Certificates).
• STCW certification and experience with Risk Assessment / Permit‑to‑Work procedures.

Required skills

• Ability to use protective equipment and follow HSE regulations.
