Satellite Data Specialist

About the role

The Satellite Data Specialist will join the Department of Family Medicine at United Arab Emirates University to turn raw satellite observations into actionable insights. You will support mission planning, data processing, and delivery of high‑quality imagery to internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze raw satellite data and convert it into useful information.
• Develop and implement image‑processing and data‑analysis algorithms.
• Manage processing, storage, and distribution of payload data and images.
• Monitor data quality and continuously refine processing techniques.
• Participate in mission planning and support satellite pass imaging operations.
• Coordinate with the operations team to ensure successful image capture.
• Produce reports, visualisations, and analyses for diverse audiences.
• Troubleshoot data‑related issues and optimise data flows.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Remote Sensing, Geospatial Science or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of satellite data, GIS and mission planning.
• Willingness to learn satellite pass operations and advanced processing techniques.

Required skills

• Python (or similar programming language) for data analysis.
• GIS tools and concepts.
