School Nurse

About the role

The School Nurse is responsible for safeguarding the health, hygiene and wellbeing of students and staff at a GEMS Education school in Dubai. This role ensures compliance with Dubai Health Authority regulations and provides immediate medical support on campus.

Key responsibilities

• Administer first‑aid treatment and manage medical emergencies for students and staff.
• Maintain accurate immunisation records and ensure adherence to DHA guidelines.
• Promote health awareness and preventative hygiene practices throughout the school.
• Monitor cleanliness and hygiene in high‑risk areas such as cafeterias, washrooms and swimming pools.
• Provide medical advice, refer serious cases to doctors or hospitals, and communicate with parents and the school principal.
• Attend school events and be present for all student‑related activities as required.
• Keep up‑to‑date with current medical practices and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Recognised BSc Nursing degree or a 3‑year General Nursing Certificate.
• Valid DHA nursing licence.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar school or community health role.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle emergencies effectively.
