SCS/CS Field Service Engineer Intern

About the role

Join GE Vernova’s Grid Solutions team in Abu Dhabi for a 12‑month Field Service Engineer internship. You will work alongside experienced engineers to develop hands‑on technical skills in substation automation and support client sites across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Assist engineers in preparing signal lists from schematics and related documents.
• Support engineering and field service tasks for protection relays, panel modifications, protection logic diagrams, and bill of materials.
• Prepare and review production documents such as wiring tables, label lists, cable schedules, and inter‑panel wiring files.
• Conduct CT/VT adequacy checks, relay setting calculations, and coordinate EHS activities on site.
• Help install and test Substation Automation Systems, including DCS/SCS, RTU, fiber‑optic layouts, PC installations, and SCS console wiring.
• Record and verify digital inputs, controls, IEC61850 IED signals, SCADA signals, and overall system functionality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Power, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Energy Engineering or a related field.
• Fresh graduate or up to 2 years of experience.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Fluent English; Arabic is a plus.
• Analytical mindset, proactive attitude and ability to work in cross‑functional teams.
