About the role

GEMS International School, Dubai Hills is seeking a passionate Secondary English Teacher to join its IB continuum from August 2027. The school combines academic excellence with a focus on aeronautics, aviation and space, offering a collaborative, inquiry‑led environment for students.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging, inquiry‑based English lessons for secondary students.
• Create an inclusive classroom where learners feel challenged and supported.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
• Assess student progress and use data to inform teaching.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and share best practices.
• Build positive relationships with students, parents and staff.
• Contribute to co‑curricular and enrichment activities.
• Uphold GEMS values and the IB Learner Profile.

Required profile

• Recognised teaching qualification at degree level (B.Ed, PGCE, State Teaching License or equivalent) with an English specialism.
• Minimum three years of successful secondary English teaching experience, preferably including IB MYP or DP.
• Strong subject knowledge and commitment to inquiry‑based, concept‑driven learning.
• Experience with A‑Level curricula is a plus for candidates without IB background.
