Secondary Performing Arts Teacher

About the role

Jumeira Baccalaureate School is looking for a creative and dedicated Secondary Performing Arts Teacher to deliver the Middle Years Programme (MYP) curriculum. The role combines classroom instruction with the leadership of music and drama extracurricular activities, fostering students' artistic growth.

Key responsibilities

• Teach the MYP performing arts curriculum to secondary students.
• Design and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with MYP guidelines.
• Lead and supervise music and drama extracurricular activities (ECA).
• Organise school productions, including auditions, rehearsals and performances.
• Mentor students who wish to pursue performing arts beyond the classroom.
• Collaborate with colleagues to integrate performing arts across the MYP curriculum.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Performing Arts, Music, Drama or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
• Valid teaching certification or license.
• Experience teaching the MYP performing arts curriculum.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Organisational skills to manage productions and extracurricular programmes.
• Passion for nurturing student creativity and growth.

Required skills

• Knowledge of performing‑arts pedagogy and curriculum design.
• Ability to create engaging, standards‑aligned lesson plans.
• Proficiency in using technology tools to support teaching and assessment.
