Secondary Physics Teacher

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Physics teacher to deliver the secondary curriculum (IGCSE and A‑Level) at GEMS Cambridge International School in Abu Dhabi. The role involves planning, delivering and assessing physics lessons while fostering a stimulating learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging physics lessons aligned with IGCSE and A‑Level specifications.
• Prepare teaching materials, laboratory experiments and assessments.
• Monitor student progress, provide feedback and support individual learning needs.
• Collaborate with department colleagues and contribute to cross‑phase initiatives.
• Communicate regularly with parents and participate in school events.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE in Physics (distance or open university degrees not accepted).
• Minimum two years of teaching experience in IGCSE/A‑Level physics.
• All certificates must be attested.
• Strong command of English.

• Creative and enthusiastic classroom approach.
• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal communication.
• Proficient use of IT tools for lesson preparation and student interaction.
