Section Supervisor – Anatomic Pathology & Cytopathology

About the role

The Section Supervisor leads the Anatomic Pathology and Cytopathology laboratory at American Hospital Dubai, ensuring high‑quality diagnostic services, compliance with accreditation standards, and effective team performance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the Anatomic Pathology and Cytopathology section, including staff training and supervision.
• Maintain and improve quality through internal and external quality control, proficiency testing, and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation, procedures, and quality‑control issues, providing technical support as needed.
• Manage method evaluation, validation, set‑up, and ongoing method reviews.
• Ensure compliance with CAP and JCIA accreditation standards.
• Supervise materials management, reagent inventory, and statistical reporting.
• Participate in strategic laboratory planning, marketing, and monthly focus groups.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory, Cytology or a related field.
• Current and valid Dubai Health Authority (DHA) license.
• At least 84 months (7 years) of relevant laboratory experience.
