Section Supervisor – Anatomic Pathology & Cytopathology

About the role

The Section Supervisor will lead the Anatomic Pathology and Cytopathology section, ensuring high‑quality diagnostic services and compliance with international accreditation standards. This role combines operational management, staff development, and technical oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the Anatomic Pathology and Cytopathology section, including staff training and supervision.
• Maintain compliance with CAP and JCIA accreditation standards through internal and external quality control programs.
• Supervise proficiency testing, review results, and implement corrective actions.
• Manage materials, reagent inventory, and statistical reporting for the laboratory.
• Perform method evaluation, validation, and set‑up for new assays.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation and procedural issues to ensure uninterrupted workflow.
• Participate in strategic laboratory planning, marketing initiatives, and short‑ and long‑term operational goals.
• Support staff morale, safety, ethical practices, and patient confidentiality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory, Cytology or a related field.
• Current and valid Dubai Health Authority (DHA) license.
• Minimum seven years of relevant experience, including three years in a supervisory role within Anatomic Pathology and Cytopathology.
• Strong knowledge of core laboratory sections and accreditation practices (CAP, JCIA).
