Senior Accountant – Freight Forwarding

About the role

RSL Freight Co. LLC is seeking a dynamic Senior Accountant to manage the finance function of its freight forwarding and warehousing operations in Dubai. The role works closely with sales and operations teams and reports to the Finance Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare daily fund position, cash flow statements and monthly financial reports.
• Manage day‑to‑day accounting activities including AP, AR, general ledger and bank reconciliations.
• Oversee month‑end and year‑end closing, journal entries and transitional accounting.
• Handle online banking, WPS processing and record keeping.
• Ensure timely invoicing, verify job closures and book incidental expenses.
• Coordinate receivables with sales, produce ageing analysis and sales target calculations.
• Resolve financial and operational issues in freight forwarding.
• Maintain UAE FTA compliance – VAT, Excise tax filing and related reporting.
• Support annual audits, AML compliance and statutory audits.
• Work with operations to keep inventory and shipment records accurate.
• Supervise junior accounting staff, delegating tasks and providing guidance.

Required profile

• ACCA, CIMA or CA qualification (full or part); university degree is a plus.
• 7‑8 years of senior accounting experience, with at least 4‑5 years in freight forwarding.
• Audit experience of around 2 years is advantageous.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
