Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will lead the accounting function for a key business unit within ADNOC, ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust control of costs and compliance with corporate standards. This position combines hands‑on accounting work with supervisory responsibilities over a small team.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise staff in day‑to‑day accounting activities, including general ledger, payables, receivables and cash management.
• Prepare and review month‑end and year‑end closing reports, ensuring all accruals are correctly booked.
• Maintain and reconcile control accounts, subsidiary ledgers and the general ledger.
• Analyse cost reports, investigate variances and correct discrepancies.
• Implement budgetary control at the pre‑expenditure stage and monitor actual spend against approved budgets.
• Validate supplier invoices and payroll details, ensuring compliance with contracts and internal policies.
• Manage company bank accounts, oversee cash flow and enforce credit‑limit controls.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in oil & gas or large industrial environments.
• Proven supervisory or team‑lead experience.
• Strong knowledge of financial standards, month‑end/year‑end processes and budgetary control.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
