Senior Accountant

About the role

Our client, a well‑established FMCG company in Dubai, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their finance team. You will manage day‑to‑day accounting operations with a focus on accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, reporting and financial controls.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) cycles, including invoice processing, payments, receipts and credit notes.
• Perform regular supplier and customer account reconciliations and monitor outstanding balances.
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations and support month‑end closing activities.
• Assist with cash‑flow monitoring, working‑capital management and preparation of monthly financial reports.
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations and maintain accurate accounting documentation.
• Liaise with internal departments, suppliers, customers and auditors as required.
• Identify discrepancies and contribute to improvements in accounting processes and controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• 5–8 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in FMCG, distribution, trading or retail.
• Strong hands‑on experience in AP and AR functions.
• Good understanding of accounting principles and month‑end closing procedures.
• Ability to work independently and meet strict reporting deadlines.
