Senior Accountant – Oil Trading & Shipping

About the role

RHEIN ENERGY FZCO is expanding its finance team in Jumeirah Lakes Towers, Dubai. The Senior Accountant will own full‑cycle accounting for physical oil trades and vessel operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with UAE tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the general ledger, journal entries, and month‑end / year‑end closing.
• Perform deal accounting for oil trades, including COGS, inventory valuation, mark‑to‑market, and pricing adjustments.
• Account for voyage costs, freight, bunkers, demurrage and produce voyage P&L reports.
• Reconcile broker, counterparty and inspection statements and monitor open trading positions.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements under IFRS.
• Handle AP/AR, bank reconciliations, letters of credit and inter‑company transactions.
• File VAT returns and support corporate tax compliance with FTA regulations.
• Assist budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management and working‑capital planning.
• Coordinate with external auditors and improve internal controls.
• Mentor junior accountants and review their work.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA/ACCA/CMA/CA preferred.
• Minimum 6 years accounting experience, at least 2 years in a senior role.
• Prior experience in oil/commodity trading or shipping.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, UAE VAT and corporate tax.
• Familiarity with trade finance instruments and Incoterms.
