Senior AI Engineer - Generative AI & Banking

About the role

A Senior AI Engineer is sought in Abu Dhabi to design, build and deploy enterprise-scale AI solutions powered by Generative AI, Agentic AI, Machine Learning and Large Language Models (LLMs). The focus is on production-ready AI applications, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, intelligent agents and cloud-native AI platforms that support digital transformation in the banking sector.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement Generative AI and Agentic AI applications using commercial and open-source LLMs.
• Develop enterprise-grade RAG pipelines, covering document ingestion, embeddings, retrieval optimization and response generation.
• Build intelligent AI assistants, autonomous agents and domain-specific AI solutions.
• Evaluate and optimize AI models for scalability, accuracy and cost efficiency.
• Develop AI services in Python and modern ML frameworks, and build NLP, deep learning and computer vision solutions.
• Implement prompt engineering, prompt optimization and agent orchestration, and fine-tune foundation models.
• Integrate AI services with Azure, AWS and other enterprise cloud platforms, and implement vector databases and semantic search.
• Work with Data Engineering, Software Engineering and Product teams, and ensure AI governance, security, monitoring and responsible AI practices.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience.
• Preferred: Master's or PhD in AI/ML/Data Science, and banking or financial services experience.
