Senior Architect – Metro & Rail Design

About the role

SYSTRA is seeking a highly skilled Senior Architect to lead the design of metro and rail infrastructure projects. The role focuses on landscape, station, depot and building architecture, ensuring innovative, sustainable solutions that meet client expectations and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design process for landscape, station, depot and building projects.
• Develop and present design concepts and proposals to clients and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, planners and construction professionals.
• Oversee project timelines, budgets and resources to ensure successful delivery.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to verify compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
• Mentor junior architects and design staff, fostering creativity and continuous improvement.
• Stay updated with industry trends, technologies and best practices.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes, standards and regulations.
• Prepare detailed architectural drawings, specifications and construction documentation.
• Engage with clients to understand their vision and provide expert advice.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field.
• Professional licensure as an Architect.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in architectural design, focusing on landscape, station, depot and building projects.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in relevant large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in architectural design software such as AutoCAD, Revit and BIM.
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Strong project management ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of sustainable design practices and principles.
• Familiarity with local and international building codes and standards.
• LEED accreditation or equivalent certification.
• Preferably experience in the UAE or GCC region.
