Senior Backend Engineer – Java SpringBoot Microservices

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join a leading banking client in the United Arab Emirates. The role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining Java SpringBoot micro‑services that power critical financial applications.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse business requirements and define technical solutions.
• Develop middleware and RESTful services using Test‑Driven Development (TDD) practices.
• Write comprehensive JUnit test cases to ensure high code coverage.
• Integrate AWS native services such as IAM, Lambda, EKS, SNS, SQS, KMS, Secret Manager and Elasticache.
• Manage source code, CI/CD pipelines and security policies in GitHub.
• Address penetration‑testing findings and implement robust application security controls.

Required profile

• Strong experience with Java and SpringBoot micro‑services architecture.
• Hands‑on expertise in AWS cloud‑native development and deployment.
• Proven ability to work with GitHub repositories, GitHub Actions and advanced security settings.
• Solid understanding of NoSQL databases and data modelling.
• Experience with agile development practices.
