Senior Buyer

About the role

The Senior Buyer will lead sourcing and purchasing activities for Majid Al Futtaim Lifestyle, ensuring optimal cost, quality and availability of product ranges that meet customer needs and drive profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate and execute buying strategies aligned with brand and MAF Lifestyle guidelines.
• Manage vendor sourcing, development, contract negotiation and purchasing while coordinating with supply chain and warehouse teams.
• Build and monitor Open-to-Buy (OTB) plans by store, category and sub‑category.
• Control stock levels to reduce lost sales, improve buying efficiency and maintain a balanced product mix.
• Contribute to annual business plans, budgets and buying strategies, taking corrective actions as needed.
• Achieve financial targets for OTB, margins, sell‑through and markdowns.
• Negotiate pricing, shipment costs and payment terms with local suppliers.
• Maintain profitable supplier relationships and ensure contractual compliance.
• Stay updated on customer trends and demographic shifts to inform buying decisions.
• Provide fashion trend and product training to store teams as required.

Required profile

• 4‑5 years of experience in a senior merchandising role.
• Retail background is mandatory.
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Fashion, Marketing or a related field.
• Qualification in Retail Management or Purchasing is desirable.
