Senior Civil Engineer

About the role

AECOM is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead the design, supervision and delivery of major sewage treatment plant (STP) projects in Dubai. The role combines technical oversight of civil works with coordination across multidisciplinary teams to ensure high‑quality, on‑time infrastructure delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, manage and supervise all civil construction activities for STP projects, including inlet/outlet structures, tanks, clarifiers, sludge treatment facilities and associated buildings.
• Review IFC drawings, structural drawings, specifications, BOQ, method statements and project schedules to guarantee compliance with approved documents.
• Supervise excavation, shoring, dewatering, backfilling, compaction, reinforcement, formwork, concrete pouring, curing and waterproofing of tanks and underground works.
• Coordinate setting‑out with surveyors, review shop drawings, raise and follow up RFIs, and ensure proper installation of sleeves, embeds, anchor bolts and equipment foundations.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, MEP and process equipment teams to align civil works with overall plant installation.
• Monitor construction progress against the approved schedule and report any deviations.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in civil engineering for water and wastewater infrastructure, specifically sewage treatment plants.
• Proven ability to lead large‑scale construction projects and manage multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of local construction codes, standards and best practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on quality and safety.
