Senior Coastal Engineer

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Senior Coastal Engineer to join its Dubai team, delivering ports and marine design solutions across the MENA region. You will lead the design of coastal infrastructure and work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high‑quality, compliant solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design coastal protection structures such as revetments and breakwaters.
• Design beaches and associated features including groynes.
• Develop scour protection measures.
• Design seawater intake and outfall structures.
• Prepare specifications and manage bathymetric surveys.
• Inspect and assess existing coastal structures.
• Prepare specifications for marine geotechnical investigations.
• Oversee advanced hydrodynamic modeling using the Mike21 suite.
• Lead project coastal engineering work, managing schedule, quality and resources.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure technical excellence.
• Ensure designs comply with all applicable codes and regulations.
• Maintain professional society affiliations and stay current with emerging technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in coastal engineering.
• Proven ability to lead projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
• Familiarity with industry practices, standards and regulatory requirements.
