Senior Commissioning Engineer

About the role

The Senior Commissioning Engineer will lead commissioning activities for oil & gas projects, applying best practices and deep technical expertise to ensure successful start‑up and performance testing.

Key responsibilities

• Report to the Commissioning Manager and support the Principal Commissioning Engineer in preparing deliverables.
• Conduct walk‑down inspections, punch listings, and testing of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation components.
• Develop and maintain manuals, commissioning and start‑up spares, first fills and consumables.
• Perform equipment system checks, functional testing, and resolve operational issues during commissioning, start‑up and performance tests.
• Supervise craft personnel for pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with project engineers, discipline leads, construction/fabrication teams and the client to maintain positive relationships.
• Liaise with commissioning managers, discipline lead engineers and other functional groups.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• 8–15 years of oil & gas experience with a major contractor or consultant.
• Strong understanding of commissioning, completions and related training concepts.
