Senior Construction Engineer - Mechanical (Offshore)

About the role

Penspen is urgently hiring a Senior Construction Engineer - Mechanical for an offshore PMC project in Abu Dhabi. The engineer manages and supervises mechanical construction works offshore, ensuring adherence to project specifications, safety standards and schedule commitments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mechanical construction activities, including installation of piping, static and rotating equipment and mechanical packages.
• Ensure systems are installed according to design drawings, specifications and international standards (ASME, API, ISO).
• Conduct inspections, mechanical completion checks and maintain quality documentation.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues during startup and ensure a smooth handover to operations.
• Plan, schedule and monitor mechanical construction activities to meet project milestones.
• Oversee installation of pumps, compressors, turbines, heat exchangers, vessels, tanks, piping systems and wellhead towers.
• Provide technical support for offshore wellhead towers, subsea pipelines and cable routing.
• Collaborate with civil, electrical, instrumentation and marine teams to align construction activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of experience, with at least 3 to 5 years in a similar position on major oil and gas offshore projects.
• Preferred background in PMC/EPC mechanical construction; previous ADNOC offshore experience is an advantage.
• Ability to work in challenging offshore environments and on extended rotations.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of offshore construction methods, mechanical systems and safety standards.
• Experience with mechanical installation, commissioning and supervision of offshore equipment.
