Senior Contracts Engineer

About the role

Penspen is seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Engineer with strong PMC background to join its Abu Dhabi team. The role focuses on contract administration, commercial support, and ensuring compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Administer EPC/EPCM contracts in line with project and client requirements.
• Review and interpret contract terms, providing advice to the Project Manager and multidisciplinary team.
• Evaluate contractor and consultant claims, variations, change orders, and extensions of time.
• Prepare and manage contract correspondence, notices, and documentation.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, project controls, legal, and commercial teams to resolve contractual issues.
• Participate in bid evaluations, tender clarifications, negotiations, and contract award recommendations.
• Monitor contractor performance against obligations, milestones, and KPIs.
• Identify contractual risks and opportunities and recommend mitigation measures.
• Support dispute avoidance and resolution through effective administration and documentation.
• Prepare periodic contractual status reports for management and clients.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• 15+ years of oil & gas experience, including 5+ years on PMC projects.
• Solid background in multidisciplinary EPC projects.
• Experience with greenfield and brownfield terminal and facilities upgrades.
• Preferred GCC/Middle East oil & gas project experience.
