Senior Corrosion & Material Engineer – Offshore

About the role

Penspen is seeking a Senior Corrosion and Material Engineer to work on offshore projects based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The role focuses on delivering corrosion engineering expertise for major oil and gas and petrochemical initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead corrosion engineering activities for offshore oil and gas/petrochemical projects.
• Develop and review material selection and protection strategies in line with project specifications.
• Support construction and commissioning phases by providing technical guidance on corrosion control.
• Ensure compliance with Saudi Aramco Desktop Standard and related procedures where applicable.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years of professional experience, including at least 6 years in corrosion engineering for major oil and gas or petrochemical projects.
• Experience in a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) role is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline with specialization in corrosion, materials or metallurgy.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of corrosion and material engineering principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with Saudi Aramco Desktop Standard and its procedures.
