Senior Cost Accountant

About the role

As a Senior Cost Accountant you will ensure accurate product costing, inventory valuation and variance analysis for large‑scale construction and manufacturing projects. Your insights will support project profitability, budgeting and strategic decision‑making across site and corporate operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and review standard and actual costing for manufactured products, including BOMs, routings and overhead rates.
• Analyse material, labour and overhead variances and highlight margin risks to management.
• Ensure accurate valuation of raw materials, work‑in‑progress and finished goods and reconcile inventory sub‑ledgers.
• Support preparation of manufacturing budgets, forecasts and monthly management reports.
• Partner with Production, Procurement, Supply Chain and Commercial teams to improve cost visibility and drive cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Participate in ERP implementations and continuously improve costing methodologies and master‑data controls.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree plus a professional qualification such as CIMA, CMA or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of standard, absorption and variance analysis.
• Proven ability to work with large data sets and translate findings into business insights.
