Senior Cost Control Engineer – Construction Projects

About the role

Al Sahraa Group, a leading construction and transportation company in the UAE, is seeking a Senior Cost Control Engineer to oversee cost management for large‑scale building and infrastructure projects. The role involves developing robust budgeting tools, monitoring expenditures, and providing accurate financial data to support project decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project budgets, cost breakdown structures and cost control systems.
• Monitor project expenditures against approved budgets and prepare cost forecasts, cash‑flow projections and variance analyses.
• Identify cost overruns, recommend corrective actions and produce monthly cost and progress reports.
• Review contracts, sub‑contracts and BOQs for cost compliance; manage variations, change orders and claims.
• Assist in final accounts preparation, project close‑out and coordinate with project managers, planners, procurement and site teams.
• Support procurement by evaluating vendor and subcontractor cost proposals and monitoring payments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• 8–12 years of cost control experience on building or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of BOQs, quantity take‑offs and final accounts.
• Excellent understanding of construction cost structures and commercial awareness.
• Effective communication and reporting skills.
