Senior Cost Manager – Cost Control

About the role

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Manager (Cost Control) to join its project finance team in Abu Dhabi. You will be responsible for establishing robust cost governance, managing budgets, and ensuring financial objectives are met across all project phases.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS) aligned with Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and contract pricing.
• Create, validate, and update baseline budgets, including contingencies and risk allowances.
• Implement budget change control procedures, approval thresholds, and audit trails.
• Execute cost control processes covering commitments, accruals, cost of work performed, and Forecast at Completion (FAC/EAC).
• Lead monthly Budget vs. Actual reviews, perform root‑cause variance analysis, and drive corrective actions with Project Managers.
• Maintain commitment ledgers for purchase orders and sub‑contracts, verifying progress with Quantity Surveyors and Planning teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in cost management and cost control within large‑scale construction or infrastructure projects.
• Strong analytical abilities and commercial acumen.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with senior leadership, clients, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to work independently and drive cost discipline throughout project lifecycles.
