Senior Data Scientist

About the role

Cognite is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead data‑driven solutions for industrial clients in Abu Dhabi. You will work on high‑impact AI projects across oil & gas, manufacturing, and power & utilities, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable digital solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deploy scalable machine‑learning and physical models in Python for industry use cases.
• Perform data cleansing, exploratory analysis, and apply GenAI techniques to enhance decision‑making.
• Build interactive dashboards using Grafana, Power BI, Plotly or Dash.
• Participate in discovery workshops with subject‑matter experts and clients to define problems and map them to data.
• Contribute to solution templates, best practices, and the Data Science knowledge base.
• Mentor and coach junior team members.
• Collaborate with data engineers, solution architects, and project managers to ensure successful delivery.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior‑level data scientist in industrial or similar domains.
• Strong ability to translate business objectives into technical solutions.
• Excellent communication skills for client workshops and internal collaboration.
• Experience guiding and mentoring junior colleagues.
