Senior Design Manager Solar Power

About the role

Lead the design and engineering activities for Solar PV projects, ensuring technical excellence and compliance from concept through commissioning. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams and drive successful project delivery across the United Arab Emirates.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the complete design lifecycle of utility‑scale and commercial Solar PV projects.
• Lead electrical and structural design coordination and review technical drawings, calculations and engineering deliverables.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, utilities and internal project teams.
• Support tendering activities through technical proposals and design optimisation.
• Ensure compliance with local utility regulations and international renewable‑energy standards.
• Conduct design reviews, value engineering and risk assessments.
• Provide engineering support during procurement, construction and commissioning phases.
• Manage external consultants and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Deliver projects within budget, schedule and quality requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in Solar PV design and engineering.
• Minimum 5 years in a Design Manager or Engineering Manager role.
• Experience with utility‑scale and commercial Solar projects.
• Strong knowledge of PVsyst, AutoCAD and ETAP.
• Familiarity with utility approvals, grid interconnection requirements and renewable‑energy standards.
• Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills.
