Senior Document Controller

About the role

Senior Document Controller will manage and maintain all design‑related documentation for projects, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely distribution. The role supports the design team by implementing robust document control processes and systems.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee document control activities for design projects, ensuring compliance with company standards and client requirements.
• Manage receipt, registration, distribution and archiving of design documents and drawings.
• Maintain and update document control systems such as Aconex and Asite.
• Ensure version control and proper tracking of revisions for all design documentation.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to achieve timely submission and approval of documents.
• Prepare and maintain transmittals, document registers and status reports.
• Support audits and quality checks related to document control processes.
• Train and mentor junior document controllers as required.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture or a related field.
• Minimum 8 + years experience in document control, with at least 5 years in design/document management within consultancy or engineering firms.
• Proficiency in document control software such as Aconex and Asite.
• Strong understanding of design documentation standards and ISO requirements.
• Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
