Senior Energy Consultant

About the role

This senior consulting position is based in the United Arab Emirates and offers a hybrid work arrangement (three days onsite, two days remote). You will join Sargent & Lundy’s Consulting Group, supporting power project developers, lenders, investors, utilities and government agencies across renewable energy, battery storage and utility planning.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical consulting and advisory services for utility‑scale solar, wind, gas, battery storage and other power projects.
• Conduct independent engineering and due‑diligence studies for lenders and investors.
• Perform technical, economic and market studies for grid operators, utilities and research agencies.
• Develop planning studies and business cases for utilities, independent power producers and government agencies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical or civil engineering (other engineering disciplines may be considered).
• 10+ years of experience in the power industry, including independent engineering, power project development or construction management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience writing technical reports and proposals.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership and project planning abilities.

Required skills

• Independent engineering and due‑diligence for power projects.
• Power project development and construction management.
• Project finance and financial modeling of power projects (preferred).
• Owner’s engineering activities during project execution (preferred).
