Senior Engine Performance Engineer – Turbofan Specialist

About the role

EDGE’s POWERTECH centre of excellence is seeking a Senior Engine Performance Engineer to lead thermodynamic cycle analysis for turbofan engines. The role covers the full development lifecycle, from concept design through certification and in‑service support, working closely with aircraft performance and system integration teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed engine thermodynamic cycle models and define engine decks and operating envelopes.
• Optimize specific fuel consumption, thrust, thermal efficiency and overall mission performance.
• Collaborate with the aircraft performance team and advise on engine architecture design.
• Support system integration, test planning, instrumentation and post‑test data analysis.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Turbomachinery or Fluid Dynamics.
• At least 8 years of experience with turbofan architecture, compressor‑turbine matching and engine operability.
• Fluent English communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with NPSS, GasTurb, Simulink, Python or AxStream for cycle analysis.
• Strong knowledge of gas‑turbine thermodynamics and performance matching.
