Senior Engineer – EHS (Environmental Health & Safety)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Engineer specialized in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) to join our team in the United Arab Emirates. The role focuses on technical safety oversight for substation and construction projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards and protecting personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct detailed Job Safety Analyses (JSA) for tasks such as transformer installation, cable pulling, and switchyard gantry erection.
• Manage and audit the Permit‑to‑Work (PTW) system, guaranteeing proper authorisation before work in energized zones.
• Enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and verify that all equipment is safely de‑energised.
• Oversee electrical safety, ensuring tools and PPE meet voltage requirements and are tested.
• Verify correct temporary grounding/earthing during construction activities.
• Supervise excavation safety, including shoring and underground utility detection.
• Deliver site‑specific safety inductions and daily toolbox talks for contractors and visitors.
• Lead incident investigations, perform root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 month of relevant EHS experience.
• Strong knowledge of PTW, LOTO, JSA, and electrical safety procedures.
• Ability to conduct risk assessments and lead safety trainings.
• Excellent analytical skills for incident investigation and corrective action planning.
