Senior Handover Engineer (Infrastructure)

About the role

AtkinsRealis is looking for a Senior Handover Engineer to lead the handover of infrastructure packages in Abu Dhabi. The role involves coordinating between contractors, authorities and operations teams to ensure a smooth transition from construction to operation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the handover process for infrastructure assets, developing comprehensive handover plans with milestones and timelines.
• Facilitate handover coordination forums, set terms of reference, manage agendas, record minutes and communicate outcomes.
• Oversee documentation, technical databases, handover inspections, asset snags and maintain a snag tracker and dashboards.
• Prepare reports and presentations, escalate issues to senior forums and monitor performance against the handover plan.
• Identify risks, propose mitigation strategies and ensure regulatory compliance with safety and industry standards.
• Liaise with employer representatives, authorities, O&M teams and third‑party contractors to manage expectations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in project management with a focus on handover and transition to operations, preferably on infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi.
• Strong knowledge of UAE safety regulations, industry standards and regulatory compliance for low‑rise residential operations.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem‑solving abilities.
