Senior Interior Designer - Five-Star Hospitality

About the role

A senior interior designer is sought for five-star hotel projects, including those in the GCC, covering guest rooms, suites, lobbies, banquet spaces, restaurants, F&B outlets, spas and public areas. The work must meet luxury brand standards and the expectations of discerning guests. Candidates must have a proven international track record on such projects.

Key responsibilities

• Define the design theme and narrative for the hotel and develop concepts, mood boards, material palettes and 3D visualisations for owners and operators
• Produce space plans and layouts, and take designs from concept through schematic design, design development and construction documentation, applying operator brand standards
• Prepare detailed drawings (plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, sections, joinery and millwork details), FF&E and OS&E specifications, schedules and finish books
• Source suppliers and manufacturers, support tendering, value engineering and cost control, and oversee mock-up rooms
• Run BIM coordination and clash detection (Navisworks, Autodesk ACC) and resolve clashes with architects, MEP engineers, contractors and the owner's representative
• Visit sites to check installation quality, prepare snag lists and support handover, practical completion and pre-opening
• Present proposals to owners and operators, track deliverables against the schedule and keep design records auditable

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or Architecture
• At least 10 years of professional interior design experience, including at least 8 years in luxury hospitality
• Completed five-star hotel interiors in the portfolio; general residential or commercial experience alone is not enough
• Proven delivery of at least 2-3 new-build five-star hotel projects from concept to opening
• International experience, including five-star projects in the GCC, to international luxury brand standards
• Full range of hotel spaces: guest rooms and suites, lobby and arrival, F&B outlets, spa and wellness, meeting and event spaces
• Strong command of FF&E and OS&E specification, procurement and budgeting; working knowledge of building codes, fire-safety ratings, accessibility and site health and safety
• Excellent written and spoken English; Arabic is an advantage
