Senior Internal Auditor

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to lead risk‑based audit engagements within the Smart Dubai initiative. Reporting to the Director of the Internal Audit Office, you will evaluate internal controls, compliance systems and corporate governance practices to drive continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments across departments and operations to shape the internal audit plan.
• Lead and execute risk‑based internal audit engagements, evaluating efficiency and effectiveness of controls.
• Track audit observations, update observation records and prepare periodic status reports for senior management.
• Follow up on implementation of audit recommendations and verify corrective actions.
• Assess compliance with policies, procedures, regulations and relevant government circulars.
• Coordinate with regulatory bodies on audit findings and support resolution efforts.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of internal audit policies, procedures and methodologies.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance operational efficiency and reduce risk.
• Maintain comprehensive audit files and ensure proper archiving in electronic systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years (60 months) of experience in internal audit or related functions.
• Proven ability to work under the supervision of senior audit leadership.
