Senior Mechanical Engineer – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

Senior Mechanical Engineer responsible for leading mechanical works on infrastructure projects, focusing on pump stations, lifting stations and drainage systems.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage mechanical works for pump stations, lifting stations and drainage facilities.
• Oversee installation of pumps, valves, pipework, mechanical equipment, actuators, penstocks and screens.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, ITPs, RFIs and other technical submissions.
• Coordinate mechanical works with civil, electrical, instrumentation and SCADA systems.
• Supervise testing, commissioning, performance testing and final acceptance of mechanical systems.
• Resolve technical and construction issues with contractors, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and HSE requirements.
• Support handover and closeout, preparing O&M manuals, as‑built drawings and asset documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in mechanical infrastructure projects, especially pump and lifting stations.
• Proven experience with installation, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting of mechanical systems.
• Strong knowledge of QA/QC, HSE, technical documentation and construction procedures.
• Excellent communication, coordination and problem‑solving abilities.
• Prior experience in UAE/GCC infrastructure projects is preferred.
