Senior Nuclear Medicine Technologist – PET Scanning

About the role

The Senior Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for independently conducting all nuclear medicine operations, including PET scanning, while supervising junior staff and ensuring compliance with operational standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare radiopharmaceuticals, perform quality‑control and chemical purity checks, and manage calibration of solutions to minimise radiation exposure.
• Assist physicians in selecting appropriate radiopharmaceuticals and dosages, and administer them intravenously, orally or by inhalation.
• Operate and maintain imaging equipment, conduct daily calibration and radiation contamination monitoring.
• Oversee material shortages, place orders and approve replenishments as needed.
• Maintain sterile isolator cleanliness, monitor airborne microbial contamination, and perform dose calibrator quality assurance.
• Record patient examination history, recognise contraindications, and ensure the highest standard of patient care.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of clinical experience in nuclear medicine, with at least 2 years in a senior supervisory or management role.
• UAE nationals: minimum 2 years relevant experience in an acute‑care hospital.
• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Nuclear Medicine Imaging (or equivalent associate degree) and valid registration/certification.
• One year post‑qualification experience in the nuclear medicine field.
