Senior Onshore Construction Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Penspen is urgently seeking a Senior Onshore Construction Mechanical Engineer to lead fabrication, module assembly, pre‑commissioning and construction activities for offshore oil & gas facilities in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Supports onshore fabrication, module assembly, pre‑commissioning and construction activities for offshore oil & gas facilities.
• Reviews and supports construction execution plans, work packs, method statements and procedures.
• Coordinates mechanical construction during fabrication, assembly, testing and pre‑commissioning phases.
• Monitors progress, identifies schedule risks and proposes mitigation measures.
• Reviews mechanical design deliverables for constructability and installation feasibility.
• Provides technical support for static and rotating equipment installation, piping fabrication, structural interfaces, pressure testing and mechanical completion.
• Ensures compliance with HSE policies, quality management systems and project specifications.
• Interfaces with engineering, procurement, fabrication yards, commissioning teams and client representatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 15‑18+ years of experience, including at least 5 years on offshore projects.
• Proven experience in offshore platforms, topsides or subsea‑related projects.
• Experience supporting fabrication yards and module construction activities.
• Strong knowledge of offshore construction methods, mechanical systems and safety standards.
• Preferred background in PMC/EPC; prior ADNOC offshore experience is an advantage.
