Senior Piping Engineer – Project Mechanical Lead

About the role

Worley is seeking a Senior Piping Engineer to lead mechanical piping design and engineering activities on a major project in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on ensuring safety, quality and compliance across all contractor deliverables while supporting project delivery from concept to construction.

Key responsibilities

• Champion project safety culture and engage in safety activities.
• Identify, evaluate and resolve piping engineering issues.
• Review and approve contractor deliverables, including equipment design, system layouts, material testing, specifications and design calculations.
• Attend technical meetings with owners, licensors, contractors and vendors.
• Supervise the review of EPC contractor’s mechanical piping design, ensuring compliance with codes, standards and project specifications.
• Coordinate engineering input for design options, business models and new specification development.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in piping and mechanical engineering within large‑scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of industry codes, standards and licensor requirements.
• Proven ability to manage technical reviews and constructability assessments.
• Excellent communication skills for interfacing with owners, contractors and vendors.
