Senior Principal Engineer – Guidance and Control

About the role

Shape the future of precision‑guided systems as a Senior Principal Engineer in Guidance & Control. You will lead the development of advanced flight‑control software for next‑generation smart weapon systems, covering the full product lifecycle from concept to production support.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and maintenance of Guidance & Control algorithms for smart weapons.
• Design and optimise autopilot and mission control software to meet stringent performance criteria.
• Develop Launch Acceptable Region (LAR) and Mission Planning System (MPS) algorithms.
• Own 6‑Degree‑of‑Freedom (6‑DOF) simulation models and support Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop Simulation (HILS) activities.
• Validate aerodynamic models using flight‑test data and perform data analysis.
• Translate system requirements into robust software solutions using C, C++, MATLAB, and Simulink.
• Execute software verification and validation in compliance with DO‑178 and MIL‑STD standards.
• Manage configuration, traceability, documentation, and change‑control processes.
• Support production, fault investigations, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Software, Electronic, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 10–15 years of experience in smart weapons, guided munitions, missile, aerospace or defence.
• Proven expertise in guidance systems, flight‑control systems, Kalman filtering, modelling and simulation.
