Senior Product Designer

About the role

Careem is the everything app for the greater Middle East, covering rides, food, groceries and payments. It is looking for a Senior Product Designer to own design for a major area of the super app experience, shaping the strategy of their team rather than just executing within it. The designer works with design leadership to set the design vision, drives multiple workstreams in parallel and works AI-natively, moving from intent to high-fidelity, testable design faster.

Key responsibilities

• Own design for a feature area from concept to launch, defining, designing and iterating experiences that improve user outcomes and move commercial KPIs.
• Act as a strategic peer to product and engineering leads, clarifying what is being built, why and for whom, and resolving dependencies.
• Deliver complete work across states, edge cases, dark mode and localisation, and design holistically within existing systems, working with the design system.
• Prototype quickly, including AI-assisted prototyping, and use user interviews, data and industry awareness to validate work and shape decisions.
• Present confidently to executives and other audiences, write clear documentation, and manage stakeholders autonomously.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience designing and shipping digital products at scale, including leading design for a significant product area in a fast-growing, fast-iterating environment.
• Proven record of turning complex business problems into a design vision that shipped and moved metrics.
• Experience distilling data and research into design decisions, and working as a strategic partner with product, engineering and commercial leads.
• Strong portfolio of mobile-first work with case studies on process, strategy and measurable impact.
• Bonus points for experience with the Middle East market, Arabic/RTL products, multi-vertical super apps, or AI-powered product experiences.

Required skills

• End-to-end interaction design, visual design, prototyping and design thinking.
• Fluency with design systems, consuming, contributing to and stress-testing them.
• Daily use of AI tools for exploration, prototyping, content and research synthesis, with evidence of their value.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
