Senior Project Engineer - MV & LV Switchgears and Protection

About the role

Siemens is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead the modification, extension, maintenance and spare‑parts projects for its Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) switchgear and protection systems in Abu Dhabi. The role involves full ownership from sales hand‑over through to project completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and to quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Take over projects from the sales team, clarify requirements and develop comprehensive project plans including resource allocation, procurement and revenue generation.
• Release purchase orders and subcontract agreements, coordinate with engineering and procurement teams, and follow up with vendors to secure timely deliveries.
• Monitor project progress against technical and commercial targets, prepare progress reports and conduct weekly review meetings.
• Assist the Project Manager in managing switchgear projects for utility substations and oil‑and‑gas facilities.
• Ensure compliance with Siemens standards for MV (AIS & GIS) and LV switchgear and their protection systems.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience handling MV/LV switchgear projects in utility or oil‑and‑gas environments.
• Proven ability to manage projects from inception to hand‑over, including planning, procurement, execution and control.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with the capacity to work independently.
