Senior Quantity Surveyor – Mechanical Pipeline

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor (Mechanical – Pipeline) to join our Technical Office in Abu Dhabi. The role involves close collaboration with Field Engineering, Procurement, Cost Control, Construction and Contracts teams to manage quantity and cost control for pipeline projects.

Key responsibilities

• Manage quantity and cost control workflows for pipeline activities, including material reconciliation and cross‑checking MTOs with AFC drawings.
• Identify project risks from contract documents and schedules, and submit fortnightly risk reports with mitigation plans.
• Develop strategic cost‑control solutions for contractor claims and advise management on cost‑effective actions.
• Coordinate tie‑ins, pre‑shutdown and shutdown activities, and handle field change approvals, site variations and as‑built documentation.
• Implement Installation Work Packages (IWP), Workface Planning (WFP) and Advanced Work Package (AWP) methodology to ensure milestone‑based execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–10 years of experience in oil & gas pipeline projects, preferably with an EPC or EPCM contractor.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel for material control and reporting.
• Ability to read and interpret alignment sheets and pipeline design drawings using AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of IWP, WFP and AWP methodologies.
