Senior Resident Engineer Roads and Infrastructure

About the role

AECOM is seeking a Senior Resident Engineer to lead the Roads and Infrastructure project in Dubai. The role involves overseeing on‑site engineering activities, ensuring that construction aligns with design specifications, and managing a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality results.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor client programme and progress reports, ensuring compliance with contract documents.
• Inspect workmanship and materials, conduct layout checks on lines and grades, and coordinate vertical and horizontal controls.
• Maintain comprehensive records of workforce, equipment, progress, safety, and other project data.
• Review and approve shop drawings, manage soil and material testing, and oversee final material submittals.
• Validate progress payments, assess variation and change orders, and handle compensation and time‑extension requests.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in civil engineering, preferably in road and infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to lead on‑site teams and manage contract administration.
• Strong understanding of construction standards, testing procedures, and quality assurance.
• Excellent communication skills for coordination with clients and other stakeholders.
