Senior Risk & Underwriter – Healthcare Insurance

About the role

Cigna Global Healthcare Benefits is expanding its Middle East underwriting team and seeks a Senior Risk & Underwriter to join the Dubai office. You will analyse market trends, develop pricing strategies and manage financial risk for group health insurance products across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain complex pricing models used by international group underwriters.
• Streamline financial metrics reports prepared by the underwriting team.
• Evaluate, price and modify plan designs for renewals and new large‑corporate quotations.
• Collaborate with client managers and brokers to meet product and pricing expectations.
• Manage a portfolio of accounts, balancing profitability and revenue.
• Analyse results for trends, recommend benefit adjustments and work with sales to implement changes.
• Provide clear risk explanations and cost‑management options to clients.
• Monitor market competition and client needs.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of insurance experience in finance, underwriting, actuarial or data analytics.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Actuarial Science or a related field.
• Advanced user of Microsoft Excel.
• Basic programming skills in VB scripts or similar.
• Ability to query large data sets using SQL.
• Exposure to Tableau is preferred.
• Strong numeracy, accuracy and stakeholder‑management abilities.
