Senior Risk & Underwriter

About the role

Cigna Global Healthcare Benefits is expanding its Middle East underwriting team and seeks a Senior Risk & Underwriter based in Dubai. You will analyse market dynamics, develop pricing strategies and manage financial underwriting of group healthcare risks.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain complex pricing models used by international group underwriters.
• Streamline financial metrics reports prepared by the underwriting team.
• Evaluate, price, and modify plan designs for renewals and new large corporate quotations.
• Collaborate with client managers and brokers to meet product and pricing expectations.
• Manage a portfolio of accounts, balancing profitability and revenue.
• Analyze results for trends, recommend benefit changes, and work with sales and clients to implement them.
• Provide clear risk explanations and cost‑management options.
• Stay market‑aware, understanding competition, environment, and client needs.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of insurance experience in finance, underwriting, actuarial or data analytics.
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Actuarial Science or a related field.
• Advanced user of Microsoft Excel.
• Basic programming skills in VB scripts or similar.
• Ability to query large data sets using SQL.
• Exposure to Tableau is preferable.
• Strong process‑improvement, modeling and reporting capabilities.
• High numeracy, accuracy, and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to own tasks, manage time and stakeholder expectations under pressure.
