Senior Rolling Stock Specialist (Design – Metro/Rail)

About the role

Parsons Corporation is seeking a Senior Rolling Stock Specialist to lead design development, integration and testing of metro‑car subsystems for a major rail infrastructure programme in Dubai. The role ensures that all vehicle components meet technical specifications, safety standards and project requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee design development of metro‑car subsystems such as car body, traction motors, brakes, doors, HVAC and passenger information systems.
• Conduct detailed design reviews of manufacturer submissions for compliance with specifications and safety standards.
• Manage system integration through Interface Control Documents, linking vehicles with ATC, power supply, platform screen doors, trackwork and communication systems.
• Supervise integration testing and commissioning on site to verify performance and safety.
• Ensure adherence to metro rail safety regulations and technical specifications throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering, operations and maintenance teams to optimise reliability and efficiency.
• Prepare technical reports, dashboards and updates for senior management and stakeholders.
• Promote continuous improvement, innovation and a strong safety culture across all vehicle functions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Rail Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in rolling‑stock engineering, design or integration, focusing on metro vehicles.
• Experience with both rolling‑stock manufacturers and consultancy/PMC environments preferred.
• Proven track record in design review and integration of metro cars with major rail subsystems.
• Strong knowledge of metro‑car lifecycle management, reliability engineering and system integration.
• Familiarity with metro rail safety standards and regulatory compliance.
