Senior Safety Engineer - Offshore Detailed Engineering

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Safety Engineer to lead offshore detailed engineering projects, ensuring HSE and process safety compliance throughout the project lifecycle. The role involves managing design deliverables, risk assessments and interfacing with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall stewardship of design projects, ensuring compliance with contracts, codes and legislation for HSE and process safety.
• Manage project schedules, budgets and deliverables, preparing proposals, man‑hour estimates and execution methodologies.
• Identify HSE requirements, develop and implement Project HSE Plans, loss‑prevention and fire‑and‑gas (F&G) philosophy documents.
• Lead and coordinate HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, PHSER studies and other technical reviews, reviewing design documents across all disciplines for hazards.
• Prepare hazardous‑area schedules, fire‑protection layouts, and fire‑and‑gas detection specifications.
• Design fire‑water systems, perform steady‑state and transient hydraulic analysis using PIPENET, and develop sprinkler, deluge and foam system designs.
• Apply ADNOC offshore engineering practices, international codes (NFPA, API, EI) and corporate HSE manuals to all safety‑risk designs.
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative risk assessments, including dispersion, fire/explosion modelling, safety case and flare radiation studies.
• Support procurement activities, cost estimation, material take‑offs and quality‑assurance processes.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in offshore safety and process‑safety engineering.
• Strong knowledge of ADNOC offshore guidelines, international HSE standards and relevant codes.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary technical reviews and risk‑assessment studies.
