About the role

Technology Innovation Institute is seeking a senior embedded engineer to design, develop, and maintain secure flight‑controller software for autonomous UAVs. You will work on ARM‑based SoC platforms, delivering high‑quality, safety‑critical code throughout the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

Develop and maintain real‑time embedded software in C/C++ for UAV autopilot systems.
Integrate software with sensors, communication interfaces, and hardware peripherals.
Perform bring‑up, debugging, validation, performance optimisation, and flight‑testing activities.
Contribute to software architecture, design reviews and technical documentation.
Manage source code using Git, support CI/CD pipelines, build automation and release management.

Required profile

8+ years of experience in embedded software development.
5+ years in flight‑controller, autopilot or safety‑critical avionics.
Strong background in real‑time operating systems and ARM Cortex platforms.

Required skills

C/C++ programming for real‑time embedded systems.
Python for tooling and test automation.
Experience with PX4 autopilot stack and MAVLink/GCS integration.
RTOS knowledge (e.g., NuttX) and POSIX, IPC, memory protection.
Embedded security expertise: ARM TrustZone, OP‑TEE, secure boot, eFUSE/OTP.
Peripheral interfaces: CAN‑FD, SPI, I2C, UART.
Secure coding standards (MISRA C, SEI CERT) and cryptography (TLS, AES, RSA, ECC, PKI).
Git version control, CI/CD, DevOps concepts, static code analysis tools.
