Senior Software Engineer – Core Experiences

About the role

Speechify is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join its Core Experiences team in Abu Dhabi. You will help build and maintain the foundational services and SDKs that power Speechify’s cross‑platform product experience, ensuring fast, reliable audio information for millions of users.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with product teams to define project scope, reduce complexity and deliver rapid feedback loops.
• Design and implement clear, reliable APIs and SDK components that integrate across multiple platforms.
• Optimize existing functionality for faster loading and smarter parsing by improving abstractions and algorithms.
• Develop and ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and background jobs using Kotlin.
• Contribute to the architecture of core services, balancing product needs with infrastructure constraints.

Required profile

• Strong systems thinking with a focus on end‑to‑end design and simplicity.
• Ability to work quickly, prioritize shipping features while maintaining quality.
• Comfortable in a high‑growth, remote‑first environment and able to engage effectively with designers, marketers and product managers.
